Foxes and cats not going through nether portals?

Hey, so I'm playing survival on 1.14.4 and trying to bring foxes and cats through the nether.. and they are literally standing in the portal and not going through? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.. so I think it may be a bug.. If I'm wrong, someone please tell me how. Thanks!
