Redstone only reach other piston in Negative X and Positive X

I was trying to make a small flip flop system with pistons, I tried to do it with the repeater in the coordinate of Negative X and Positive X and it worked but it didn't work in Negative Z and Positive Z. I tried the same system with redstone powder, it didn't work in any direction.
