When 2 pistons get powered simultaneously and are connected to the same slime block structure, only one piston extends

If you power 2 pistons which are connected to the same slimeblock structure at once, only one of the pistons will extend, and the other one will be pulled along with the slimeblocks.
I expected both pistons to extend instead.
