Cannot place beds on upside-down slabs

While I was building my house, I made the floor out of spuce wood half slabs upside down and then I tried to place it on the floor, but I could not do it. After a few minutes, I've figured out that I couldn't place beds on upside down half-slabs no matter what type of wood it is.
