Vines can be used by the player even when not touching one.

When a stair is placed upside down on a 2+ high wall, if there are 2 or more vines on the wall below it, when jumping into the crevice of the stair, the player will stay elevated, as if on a vine. This can be repeated forever if the wall is long enough. This effect also works in survival and adventure mode.
