Keyboard Shortcuts Activate When Typing In Chat

I set a keyboard shortcut to screenshot in Minecraft, and the button for it is now "G". Of course, pressing G would take a screenshot. Whenever opening chat and typing "G", however, it would also take a screenshot. This is when I realized that shortcuts are activated even when the keys are pressed in chat. It may be just G itself, but I'd like for this to be fixed.
