I cannot eat even when hungry. Animation occurs but the hunger ball doesn't change.

Every time I try to eat, it gives me the animation of eating, but when I finish there is no gain in the hunger bar. It just sits there and continues to deteriorate until empty. I have tried disconnecting from my realm, yet it doesn't fix the issue.
