Pumpkins and melons farms have stopped working in 1.14.3

Farms that worked perfectly before are not growing pumpkins and melons. Observer over the plant powering pistons all around. This is not the old issue where daylight was required above the plant - tried removing observer completely and no pumpkins or melons growing.
