help problem with minecraft lancher

minecraft was an awsome game and still awsome but i have a problem with the minecraft lancher when i locate any amount of ram they show me that only 500mb is allocated and game lag as hell pls can get back the old lancher or find a solution please guys and thankyou for the updates
