Cannot Edit Books on a Server with 1.14.3 version

First off yes, I have looked to see if this was a bug already and if it can be fixed or patched in anyway. But I found nothing relating to books in any version released or snap-shot. Also, I have not tested this in single world. Only found this on a server.

Playing on a pubic minecraft server that I have been apart of for a very long time. Was writing in a book and quill. Got a message and clicked done to respond to the message. Reopened the book and realized I had made a mistake at the bottom so no big deal. Went to backspace to erase it. And it crashes the game and brings me back to the launcher with a crash report message (see attached photo). Also attached is the "View Crash Report" information as well.

They are a semi-vanilla server with plug-ins and custom plug-ins. And nothing has been changed with the book and quill (that I know of but cannot reach owner atm). So I'm not 100% sure if this is a genuine bug or something server related. So figured touch base with both Mojang and the server's owner.

EDITED:
I was told to try a different version from the staff, went to change it to 1.14.2, and it did the exact same thing. Crashed the game while I tried to edit the book using backspace to erase a mistake.
