Water Transparent when breaking Leaf Blocks

(assuming graphics are set to "fancy"), if a leaf block is in front of water and water is visible through said leaf block, while breaking the leaf block and looking through it at the same time, it will seem as if water isn't there. I hope I could explain myself, English is not my first language.
