The problem is that the sticky piston wouldn't stick to any of the piston's or blocks that i had placed. Is there any way you could please fix my issue

I have been building a Five Nights at Freddy's map and i was building an automatic gravel door to pop up and down. The problem is that the sticky piston wouldn't stick to any of the piston's or blocks that i had placed. I would send snapshots but my Windows 10 computer won't let me. Is there any way the you could help me out.
