Cats not breeding, despite being repeatedly fed and not following player despite not sitting down

Despite initially being fine upon taming; being able to move and follow the player. Suddenly the cats are not following the player, despite standing and being a distance away from them, while still in loaded chunks. Cats are also not able to breed, while the animation plays for them to breed; after being fed uncooked and cooked fish, they do not actually produce the baby. Even with multiple fish being fed to each cats in a short period.
