Tamed cat staying on one block and refusing to move/teleport

Went to a nearby village and tamed a cat, once I brought it to my house it ran to a very specific block and has yet to move on it's own. I can push it away from said block if it's sitting, but once I let it stand up it immediately  runs back to that block. When I have it standing while it's on that block, no matter how far I go it won't teleport to me.
