Redstone dust updates cause massive lag.

running clocks and circuits cause massive in-game lagspikes, not consistent fps-lowering but just spikes, for every redstone tick.
it is the redstone dust updating (possibly the lighting updates), and not redstone-affected blocks as confirmed by the following video:
