Cannot trade with some villagers

Prior to updating to 1.14.3, I was able to right click on villagers to "see" what they were offering. Now when I right click on villagers, some will let me look at their inventories, and others will not. The inventory screen briefly appears (blinks) then goes away. This happens even with villages I had visited prior to 1.14.3.
