Unable to get into the game

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected when opening the game, that the bar underneath the MOJANG sign would fill up and that it would send me into the MC meny. 

What actually happened was...:
The bar stopped at the end, and did not move from there. I waited for hours but it still did not move. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press minecraft launcher
2. Press play game on 1.4.2
3. See the loading bar underneath the MOJANG sign suddenly stop and not move anywhere.
