Slow Fall Potion + Ender Pearl travel still takes damage

I have 4 pieces of armor with Protection IV, my boots have Feather Falling IV, and I am currently under the affects of Slow Falling (potion). I throw an Ender Pearl to travel. I still take damage.
Is this intentional? I mean... I thought Slow Falling was supposed to negate "falling" damage. (especially considering I've got Slow Falling + All the armor protection as well.)
