Turtle eggs won't drop themselves even with silk touch

I was experimenting with turtle eggs in my test world when I had the idea of breaking them in survival mode, I broke them with an un-enchanted pickaxe and expectedly, they dropped nothing. I remembered that a Silk Touch pickaxe is required to harvest the eggs. When I broke them again, (with silk touch) nothing dropped! They just broke! This has got to be a bug as it worked perfectly well in previous game versions. Please fix this Mojang
