Minecraft 1.14.2 Realms dying in Nether Portal bug

For some time now, I have been searching for a way to fix this issue, but so far have not found a way yet. A lot of the bug threads of similar variety have been tagged as "Solved" however, the answers did not work.

Anyways, I was playing on a Minecraft realm with my friends, and I entered the Nether to gather blaze rods. On my way back, a Ghast saw me and started attacking. My hunger was lower than enough to regenerate health and I had already taken some damage from the blazes, so I got to the portal in time. But, before it could begin teleporting me to the overworld, I died. I assumed I could get my stuff back by making it back there in time, as the nether portal is fairly close to spawn. I then attempted to click the respawn button, but after going dark for a second it lit back up. I tried a couple more times, but it didn't respawn me. I gave the game about a minute, and still nothing. I proceeded to click back to the title screen, try to rejoin, but then it gave me an error. I asked my friend who owned the realm to see if they can get my stuff and keep it in my storage for when I am able to get back on, but they said my stuff was nowhere in sight from where I died. They then told me that when holding tab, they saw my information indicating that I am online in the server. They tried kicking me and re-inviting me to the server, I have tried rejoining about once every hour, I have tried a minecraft restart & computer restart, still nothing. I am very upset about this as I put many hours into this realm, and hope to get it fixed ASAP.

Update: Logged in the next day, and to my surprise, it had me on the death screen at my bed (my spawn point). I respawned right there. Strange glitch, however, fixed (for me at least).
