XP levels clear when teleporting across dimensions

Teleporting to another player who is in another dimension will clear their xp levels.

Please note I have only tried:

• Survival mode in the end, teleporting to player in overworld, survival mode player loses xp.
• On Minecraft Realms

 

I believe this to be purely visual as once the player next gains xp their previous level will be restored.
