Tab opens inventory but doesn't close it.

In Minecraft Java 1.13.2 I had my controls set for the Tab key to open the inventory instead of using E as tab is usually the inventory button in lots of other games. I updated my game to 1.14.2 and I used the Tab key to open my inventory but found that I could not close my inventory until I reached up and pushed escape, I switched my inventory button back to E and closing my inventory worked just fine without having to push escape, I tried it again with setting the inventory button to R and it worked completely fine but for some reason Tab won't work when trying to close the inventory. I would like if this could be fixed in the next update.
