Disappearing Fishing Rod

For the second time, my fishing rod disappeared from my hand while I was afk fishing. I was monitoring it after the first time, and it didn't break. It had mending so it couldn't break while doing this, but I was able to restore my world from a backup so it's not a terribly big issue for me.
