Render Distance Flashing Glitch

While looking about 5 blocks away, the terrain is bugging out, and flashing from black to terrain, back and forth. This just happened when I updated to Minecraft 1.5.2. I made a clean copy of my Minecraft and it was still doing it. Please help with this potential bug.
