World loads, then ground disappears

Vanilla minecraft loads, then the textures for all solid blocks unload or disappear. The game isn't crashing, but it is unplayable. I've been playing minecraft and modpacks for 5 years and never had this issue. 

I ave tried updating drivers, changing java and reinstalling minecraft. BTW, this is on a fresh boot of win 7.
