cant place end crystal

I placed an End Crystal on an Obsidian block and let it blow up. Then i tryed to place another End Crystal on that block, but as i clicked on it, it didnt worked.  

After a while i found out, that you only cant place another End Crystal, if the first End Crystal blowed up blocks.
