Buried treasure map won't update even when you pass the treasure site

When i tried finding the treasure site indicated on the map, it won't update let alone load even when i passed it. it didn't show until i logged back into my world and i found out that i went WAY PAST IT! updated and everything before i realized i wasted 3 hours trying to find it when it could of toke me 10-20 minutes. I managed to find it when i logged back into the world.

I don't think i can recreate it but it did happened.
