Villagers won't change jobs

After I cured 2 villagers, both turned into butchers even though there was no smoker nearby to make them take the jobs, so I destroy the nearest smokers and they retain their profession. I place 2 different job blocks near them and they still don't change, I never traded with them yet so it makes no sense
