'Flying is not enabled on the server' kick when riding a horse

Shortly after mounting a horse, I occasionally get kicked from my own server because 'Flying is not enabled on this server'. 

 

To replicate: Tame a horse, then mount and ride a horse over hilly terrain. Dismount, and repeat until the message pops up.
