/spawnpoint is not working

When I use the /spawnpoint command either in chat or via a command block it confirms it in chat by saying

Set spawn point to -4, 68, -13 for Frilioth

or whatever coords I enter

However, when I die it spawns me back at the world spawn with the message

Your home bed was missing or obstructed

even though it isn't
