Im not technical at all but i want to join my friends server

It keeps saying "java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" after standing in a Void with nothing around then spawning in the world being instantly kicked, and i dont think its my friends server bc other people can join it and i also dont think its my Wifi Lagging
