Creepers Are Lagging Terribly, Even Offline

Creepers typically walk slowly towards you at a set speed. For me, in 1.14, Creepers are now occasionally and inconsistently freezing in place, then practically teleporting right in front of me and exploding instantly which seems awfully wrong. It made me jump the first time it happened but after that it just got annoying.
