UI is either black or white squares and sun is huge

The tooltips, crosshairs, hearts, and armor points are white or black squares when making a new world, accessing a 1.14 world, or accessing a 1.13+ world. The sun is also HUGE! (The picture would not attach so I have a reddit post here.)
