Eating multiple plantable items while looking at block shows placement animation

The bug

When eating multiple plantable food items (e.g. potatoes) while looking at a block, every eaten item after the first one shows the placement animation for a short moment.

How to reproduce

1. Make sure your foodbar is not full

   /effect give @s hunger 10 255
   

2. Give yourself multiple plantable food items

   /give @s potato 10
   

3. Eat the food items while looking at a block
   → The placement animation is shown (can be seen very well in third person mode)
