Villagers not breeding and golems not spawning if some die in raid.

I found a village in a world created in Pre-release 2 and started to grow it leveling up the villagers and everything until a raid came and killed 4 of the villagers. I gave them food and traded with them and left the old beds and work stations there but the villagers never bred back. I broke and replaced the beds and workstations and still nothing. Also on a side note, no golems are spawning. Is this an oversight on my part or is it a bug.
