Villagers not releasing bed after claim when more than 200 blocks away

When villagers breed, the babies claim an unoccupied nearby bed.  However, after the babies travel more than 200 blocks away from the village, the bed still remains claimed and the villagers will no longer breed unless the nearby beds are broken and replaced.
