Placing Water above Farmland Won't Turn it into Dirt or Destroy it

I was cheating on Minecraft and made a farm, I accidentally placed water above farmland and wondered, what would happen. Then I saw what happened, I'd like to report it but I can't access the website because of the internet. Then I tried testing it again. This time I made a pool with farmland floor. It dosen't matter if the water was placed above farmland or farmland was placed in water. So yah now I finally got access to the website and now I'm telling my story.
