Spawn point bug

There is a bug where if you change your game mode in-game by using the /gamemode username 1 command and set your spawnpoint with the /spawnpoint command and kill yourself and respawn, you will not respawn at your updated spawnpoint. Instead, you will spawn on you FIRST spawnpoint, and Minecraft says "Your bed is missing or obstructed". This was a really big bug to me because I lost my home because
I didn't return to my spawnpoint and barely found it with a mod. Plz fix this!
