Cannot rename objects, or nametags in anvil.

I have been playing on a server that a friend of mine owns on the new snapshot and I tried to rename a nametag to name my dog, and no matter how many times I moved the anvil or clicked on the name part, it would not allow my to rename the nametag. I tried with other objects as well, things that I know you should be able to rename, and nothing worked.
