Villager does not level up when removing and item you bought and using shift clicking

when trading with a villager they will not level up if you shift click the items you bought out of there HUD. The only way to level up the villager is to wait for there trades to recycle or use another trade they have open. if you shift click with the other trade that is open, the villager will still not level up.

What I expected to happen was...:
When I shift click the item I bought I expect them to level up once reaching max level on there trading bar

What actually happened was...:
The items are taken but the villager does not level up even know the trading XP bar is full

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put an item the villager requests to buy another item
2. Press "L shift" and left mouse to take the items you bought instead of just left mouse
3. Villager will not level up
