Only can play multiplayer on the console that the world is loaded on

I went on my Nintendo switch and I tried to load up the multiplayer world that had been created on the Xbox one version and it said that there was a problem called the client outdated.so I thought that it was just the Nintendo switch so I tried my iPad and it had the same message so in the end I had to go on the Xbox. I restarted the switch and my iPad and tried reloading the game on the Xbox please fix it as I can’t play it on the xbxix very well as it is really laggy when 2 people try and play on it
