minecraft mojang loading screen doesnt load

i press play on minecraft and when i do it brings me to the mojang screen like normal then never loads it always does this no matter what version except for the oldest version and in that version it is just flatgrass and can only use cobble stone im so confused on what to do and its irritating. just need real help.
