Computer Crashes When Playing Minecraft In Full Screen (Since 1.4+)

Whenever I play minecraft in maximized mode, nothing appears to overload, but the RAM frequency does, I think it's causing it to use too much power, I'd really like it if minecraft works no matter how old you PC is, mine isn't old, I've only seen this issue on this one, I've reinstalled windows, even tried Linux (Seems to never Crash) or maybe its just that linux uses less system resources unlike windows. I'd like it if minecraft had a compatibility mode for slow hardware or use less resources, recode it.
