Animals despawn after leaving world and joining (Singleplayer)

I have 2 worlds, both survival and creative on 19w08b. Whenever I leave the worlds and rejoin them, my tamed animals and other entities despawn, forcing me to find another wolf and cat in a village. I've tried naming them, and they still despawn.
