Sleeping with foxes on lead causes game crash

I had both an adult fox and a fox pup on leads and went to bed. The screen dimmed and never came back up, though the button "leave bed" was there. I could hear villagers doing their thing, but the screen didn't change.

I left it for a few minutes and when nothing happened, I closed the game.

That particular world now continually crashes Minecraft each time I load, even when rolling back to a previously released version.
