furnaces, blast furnaces and food furnaces do not cook items

It appears that both the furnace, blast furnace, and smoker are not cooking items.

I have tried different fuel types, including coal and wood. I have tried different ores in the furnace.

Please see screen shot attached of furnace not cooking. This is on survival mode.
