Lag spikes

any time i begin breaking blocks or placing blocks i start getting crazy lag spikes where my 200-300 fps drops down to a slideshow fps at like 7 fps. My computer's power should'nt be a problem if there is 8gb allocated ram, rx 580, ryzen 5 2600. Seriously mojang! I understand that this is a snapshot but frame rate drops like this should be unexcusable..
