My Minecraft freezes when drinking potions.

When I go play Minecraft, every time I drink a potion and see someone drink a potion, my Minecraft freezes. When it crashes I can't tab out so i'll wait until the Mincraft screen turns white and it says " Java(TM) Platform SE binary is not responding." It also happens with riding horses sometimes. Also, I use 1.8.9 not 1.13.2 it would show 1.8.9.
