Trident impossible to use in the nether

After I tried to anger a pigman with the crossbow which failed (another bug) I tried the trident but 4 me it was impossible to fire it for some reason, it cannot even be charged. (ench - unb. 3 and riptide 3 but I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the bug)
