Randomly Turning Invisible

I was just mining around in a tunnel I found when I randomly turned invisible. I'd check to see if it goes away when I die but I'm really far away from my house and I don't want to have to trek all the way back here. I don't have a potion effect on, and I can't see my hand in first person mode. Help?
